Indian Head Massage and Reiki treatment

Anja Pettersson

Mondays 9am-3pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-9pm

A 60 min session is priced at £50* and a 30 min session is priced at £20*.

*Introductory prices, available for a limited time.

Anja is a meditation teacher, reiki practitioner, massage therapist and a psychotherapy student. Through studying the mind and mental health in her journey towards becoming a psychotherapist while separately training in anatomy to work as a massage therapist, she became aware of the importance of combining the two. Additionally, she incorporates breathwork (meaning some breath techniques) in all her sessions as she believes it is an easy tool for healing and mindfulness which you can take home with you. She strongly believes the mind and body are connected and work from a perspective of understanding that the body reacts to the mind and vice versa.

In all sessions Anja will start by having a little chat about your expectations and what your goals are. This is to assess what you need and address which areas you might need extra support with. She uses incenses and music to engage all senses in the session and adding a comfortable feeling in the room. Once you have decided how you wish to receive the treatments, she will give either a combination or a separate session of reiki and/or Indian head massage.

Description of Indian Head Massage:

Indian Head Massage has its origin in the ancient system of medicine known as Ayurveda. The underlying philosophy is that health results from harmony within one’s whole self.
The head, more than any part of our body, represents who we are. It is the centre of our nervous system and home to our identity and intelligence. “If our head feels good, we feel good”. Indian Head Massage has both physical and mental benefits such as providing relief from tension headaches, migraine and insomnia, it further releases anxiety and stress. As it increasing oxygen uptake in the tissues, it offers alertness and lifts feelings of mental tiredness.

Description of reiki:

Reiki means “universal life force energy” and originates from Japan. It encourages emotional, spiritual and physical healing through transferring energy using the practitioner’s palms. I am trained using my hands directly on non-intrusive positions on the body but can perform reiki without touching, holding my hands above the body if this is preferred. The treatment is made with all clothes on as energy travels through any clothing. Reiki has many benefits and sharing touch alone has been shown to heal people, which is remarkable in its simplicity. Reported benefits include: Relieve of emotional stress, physical pain relief, better sleep and re-energized sensations.

A typical session will involve a short consultation followed by Madeleine using ‘hands-on’ Reiki (a non-touch option is also possible). She may also use gentle sound healing techniques to help you let go and relax more deeply.

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage

Max Williams

Wednesdays to Sundays 11am- 7:30pm

A 30 min session is priced at £40, £70 for 60 minutes, and £90 for 90 minutes.

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) is a distinctive form of bodywork that combines deep tissue massage with coordinated breath and assisted stretching. To facilitate a full range of extension the work is performed on the floor and both hands and feet are applied to dissolve physical tension and stimulate fascia.

A unique element of this method is the use of calamus powder - the ground rhizome (root) of Acorus Calumus - which is used alongside natural oils to generate heat, improve circulation, and encourage healing. The overall aim of AYM is to engage the parasympathetic nervous system and remove stress that has manifested in the body. A standard session is 60 minutes and is highly adaptable to suit the needs of each individual.

Max is trained in the tradition of Kusum Modak:

Thai Massage

Deep Tissue Massage / Private and Couples Gong Bath and Energy Healing

Theresa Royle

Mondays,Thursdays and Saturdays - 2 to 9pm

Deep Tissue £65 for 60 minutes - £90 for 90 minutes

Private or couples Gong Bath & Energy Healing £80 for 60 minutes - £105 for 90 minutes

Theresa is a highly intuitive and empathic healing practitioner, who stumbled upon holistic therapies in her early 20's after moving to London from her native country of Austria. She struggled with depression amongst other health issues and conventional treatment methods only helped her up to a certain point.

It is then that she discovered energy healing and after seeing all the positive changes that unfolded in her life, she decided to train in it herself. The journey of attending her own healing sessions and simultaneously training as an energy healing practitioner spun over a 5 year period. She also qualified in massage therapy and holds the ITEC diploma in holistic massage and specialises in deep tissue treatments.

She has recently also discovered the transformative powers of the gong and hosts regular gong baths and sound meditations in London. The mystical tones of this ancient tool can be felt throughout the body during the session and many people describe the experience as being a magical one. She always advises her students to remain open minded and to go into the experience without any preconceived ideas of how they "should" or "shouldn't" feel.

The vibrations of the gong help to realign the chakras, detox the system on a very deep and cellular level, bring about a feeling of well being, lower the heart rate and bring the brainwaves into a slower state which in turn makes it effortless to tap into a state of surrender and meditation. Emotional blockages are also likely to be unraveled and this means that at times, unpleasant feelings may rise to the surface to be healed and integrated.

Theresa offers deep tissue massage treatments and private one to one or couples gong baths & energy healing sessions. The deep tissue sessions will concentrate on areas in the body that feel tense and where a little more pressure is needed to work on those stubborn knots. Her routine includes use of elbows and forearms in order for the full body weight to be used efficiently.

One to one and/or couples gong baths & energy healings will see the you receive an energetic cleanse with sacred herbs such as sage or palo santo, hands on healing, followed by the gong bath/sound meditation. Theresa plays the 32" Chiron gong and she may also include some storytelling/guided meditation, use her Shamanic drum and voice, chimes, rattles and other instruments during the session.

Please note that gong baths are not recommended for pregnancies in the first trimester, anybody with metal implants/pacemakers or anybody with a history of severe mental illness or epilepsy.
